About Gary Armida

My Princess and Me

First and foremost, Gary Armida is a Father to the best little girl in the world. After that, he is a writer currently writing a daily column for Operation Sports.com.  He is the President of FullCountPitch media, LLC while also functioning as the Senior Writer and Executive Editor of all FCP Media productions. The vast majority of articles published on FullCountPitch Media sites have been authored by Armida. After starting FCP in November of 2007, Armida has worked with some of Baseball’s brightest minds in the hopes of bridging the gap between fan and professional.  Armida has attended Major League Baseball’s annual Winter Meetings in 2010 and 2012 as a fully credentialed member of the media, representing FullCountPitch Media, LLC.

Armida was one of the first writers to chronicle the Seattle Mariners’ use of advanced defensive metrics in August of 2009. Additionally, he has worked with Major League Baseball personnel including  Cleveland Indians Assistant General Manager Mike Chernoff, Pitching Coach Rick Adair, former Major League pitcher and currently analyst Al Leiter, Seattle Mariners Special Assistant to the GM Tony Blengino, Angels broadcaster Victor Rojas, and former General Manager and current radio host Jim Duquette.  He lists working with Rick Peterson, former Major League Pitching Coach for the Milwaukee Brewers, New York Mets and Oakland A’s and current Pitching Coordinator for the Baltimore Orioles, and Dr. Glenn Fleisig of ASMI as two of his finest accomplishments during his young career. His work with Peterson’s 3P Sports Company and ASMI has helped illuminate the injury risks for amateur and professional pitchers.

At the 2012 Winter Meetings, Armida conducted a one on one interview with Houston Astros General Manager, Jeff Luhnow that focused on the challenges of the franchise rebuilding as well as moving to the American League. The interview was one of the first granted to an independent media outlet.

In addition to his work on FCP and for Operation Sports.com, Armida has written for Baseball Prospectus, Baseball Digest, Gotham Baseball Magazine, the Business of Baseball, Diamond Nation Magazine, and numerous other baseball sites. An archive of his work with the Baseball Report Newsletter can be found at: fcpbaseballreport.blogspot.com.  Additionally, he is currently writing a baseball novel that uses the 1994 season as its backdrop.

Also, Armida is available as a freelance writer for other media outlets. In addition to writing, Armida has appeared as a guest of Sirius/XM Fantasy Baseball Radio Network. In July of 2011, he co-hosted an episode of Baseball Digest Fantasy Baseball Show on Sirius/XM Fantasy Baseball Radio Network.

After spending almost five years in new media, Armida decided to re-assess the new media industry. The latest iteration of FCP is the summation of the lessons learned and the desire to cover baseball as it should be covered–no frills, just facts and good writing.
